Aktual x Yitch – Cinema on the exhibition floor
For stand builder Aktual, we captured Yitch's striking exhibition stand. The video showcases the stand's cinema experience—featuring a giant LED wall, comfortable seating, and popcorn moments—in full detail. Through atmospheric imagery, we bring the creative concept to life and allow the viewer to experience the unique atmosphere directly from the exhibition floor.
Creative Stand Construction in Focus: The Cinema Experience of Aktual and Yitch
At Lowlite, we bring creative concepts to life through the lens. For Aktual, the innovative stand builder from Evergem, we captured a truly remarkable project: the exhibition stand for Yitch. Instead of a traditional presentation, they opted for a complete cinema experience on the exhibition floor. Featuring a giant LED wall, authentic cinema seats, and an inviting atmosphere, we documented this unique concept cinematographically.
An exhibition stand of this caliber requires more than a simple photograph. Through high-end video production, we allow the viewer to truly experience the peace, quality, and innovation of the stand. From the "popcorn moment" to the razor-sharp details on the LED wall: our video demonstrates how Aktual pushes the boundaries of traditional stand construction.
Our Approach
Translating a creative exhibition concept into video in 4 phases:
- Phase 1: Conceptual analysis of the "Brand Experience"
- Phase 2: Lighting and atmosphere planning for cinema shots
- Phase 3: Cinematographic capture on the exhibition floor
- Phase 4: Post-production with a cinematic touch
How we filmed the cinema experience of Aktual and Yitch
Phase 1: Conceptual analysis of the "Brand Experience"
Before the cameras started rolling, we analyzed the essence of the stand with the Aktual team in Evergem:
- Why did Yitch choose a cinema concept instead of a classic stand?
- How does the layout contribute to the message of industrial automation?
- What is the desired emotion for the visitor (peace, focus, wonder)? This phase ensured that our video doesn't just show the construction but also tells the strategic story behind the stand building.
Phase 2: Lighting and atmosphere planning
A cinema setting on a brightly lit exhibition floor presents challenges. We prepared for the shoot by:
- Planning shots that accentuate the depth and atmosphere of the dark "cinema space."
- Taking the refresh rate of the giant LED wall into account to prevent flickering on screen.
- Focusing on the contrasts between the busy exhibition environment and the serene experience inside the stand.
Phase 3: Cinematographic capture on location
During the filming day, we used specific filming techniques to enhance the cinema feeling:
- Use of slow-motion footage for the popcorn moments and the details of the seats for a luxurious feel.
- Gliding camera movements (dolly shots) that pull the viewer into the stand.
- Focus on the reactions of visitors who are completely immersed in the presentation on the LED wall. Thanks to our experience in event videography, we found the right balance between showcasing Aktual’s craftsmanship and Yitch’s technological innovation.
Phase 4: Advanced VFX: Motion tracking and screen replacement
This is the phase where we make the impossible possible. In our studio in the Ghent region, we performed intensive technical cleanup:
- Motion Tracking: Every shot featuring the flickering screen was digitally analyzed and tracked.
- Screen Replacement: The flickering recordings were replaced with Yitch's original, razor-sharp source video.
- VFX Clean-up: We integrated the screens so that reflections and ambient light were preserved, making the result look 100% real and organic.
Phase 5: Post-production with a cinematic touch
In the edit, we gave the video the allure of a real film:
- Color grading with deep blacks and warm accents that emphasize the cinema atmosphere.
- Sound design that auditorily supports the transition from the noisy exhibition floor to the serene stand.
- Subtle titles that underline the power of the collaboration between Aktual and Yitch. The result is a visual business card showing that Aktual doesn’t just build stands, but creates unforgettable experiences.
